Doing Things that Please Him

1 John 3:21-22(New Living Translation)—21) Dear friends, if our conscience is clear, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22) And we will receive whatever we request because we obey Him and do the things that please Him.
(Read all of “1 John 3” when you have a chance).

Obeying His commandments—loving God and loving others pleases Him. When we see people in need, it is showing kindness and love for them when we help them. We are to love people by actions, not just saying, “Oh yes, I love others.” Doing for others without expecting something in return is love. Go out of your way to love one another.

One day I went to lunch with my Aunt and Uncle. My aunt must have noticed my sandals were old and just about falling off of my feet. (They were so comfortable, I really didn’t think about it). Out of the blue, she handed me some money and told me to buy myself a new pair of sandals. That was kindness in action. I never seemed to have enough money left over after bills to get a pair. The amount of money my Aunt gave me was exactly the price of the shoes I bought. This was an answer to prayer.

One month I needed to buy a dog license, but I didn’t have enough money. My neighbor needed a ride out of town and gave me some gas money. You know, it was just enough money for the dog license! God is so faithful—He does provide for His children. It’s wonderful what a loving Father we have who even takes care of the little things. He does reward His children when we obey His commandments. This pleases God.

Matthew 6:3-4(NLT)—3) But when you give to someone, don’t tell your left hand what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in secret and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.

God loves us so much and is deserving of all our love. I love pleasing Him by telling people of His love for us. I like to share the hope that He gives me. Hopefully, that will bring more people to Christ.

Our actions let us know when we are living in His truth or not. Our integrity means doing right, even when no one is watching because God sees everything we do; even something as simple as walking around the clothing department of a store and seeing a shirt on the floor. Do you walk right by or pick it up and put it back on its hanger? Even the littlest things are important, and that pleases God.

Believing in Jesus Christ is God’s commandment, and when we obey Him we live in fellowship with them and they fellowship with us. We know He does because He lives in us as the Holy Spirit. I love pleasing God.

Do you love Father God; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit? (Do you know them)? Show Him with your actions. Spend time with Him. He will be pleased.

Finding Unconditional Love

Do you think it is possible to find unconditional love?

It seems as if it would be impossible

In this world as it exists today.

Do you imagine it as just a dream–

Something unattainable for yourself?

To find unconditional love

Is like searching for a thrown out glove—

It is nowhere to be found.

We need to be loved, cannot anyone see?

God can—His unconditional love is waiting for us.

God is unconditional love.

His love is absolute,

And all He asks of us is to believe.

Believe and accept His Son, Jesus.

Only God knows us as we are;

And He still loves us.

He loves us enough to change us from the inside out

So that we may be more like Jesus—

Loving, kind, compassionate, faithful,

Gentle, forgiving, and everything good!

God is the only one we can truly trust

And totally depend on with all our hearts

because we know His love is unconditional.

So you see-we can find unconditional love.

Romans 8:38-39 says: “For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor powers, not things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8 says: “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 John 4:18-19 (Common English Bible) –There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love. We love because God first loved us.

[Read all of 1 John 4:7-4:21—these are just a few of the verses about God’s unconditional love that you will find in His Word—the Holy Bible.]

Enjoy your journey with the love of Christ, Amen!

(My testimony from 1988–in Poem form)

The day my husband decided to leave me
My world (as I knew it) ceased to be
I dreaded to wake up every day
Because there was nothing more to say.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

Cloudy skies, no sunlight was going to shine
My only incentive on life was to resign
Suicide was very tempting at the time
But that idea wasn’t totally mine.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

My flooding memories only made me cry
The grief and guilt only made me want to die
I didn’t give him a reason to end our love affair
The horrendous pain and loneliness was too much to bear.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

When our darling infant son accidentally died
You said I was unworthy of love and I am damaged goods
You said our marriage wasn’t worth fighting for
The only reason you married me had died.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

I woke up in a deep, unforgotten, dilapidated,
seeping-wet black-holed well.
I had to be rehabilitated
because I let your rejection put me in my own prison cell.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

Then one miraculous day the sunlight appeared.
I saw Christ Jesus’ light everywhere.
His majesty became all aglow
as I felt His unconditional love flow.

Back in that deep, dark well
Where I was about to drown
Jesus dropped His strong saving, steadfast rope down.
He became my personal savior and saved me from hell.

Lord, thank you for loving me.
Being born-again helped me see
That my life was worth living now
Thank you, Jesus, for showing me how.

Yesterday is gone
(with all its sorrows and heartaches)
Tomorrow is not here yet
So I won’t think about it
But Today there is

Here are some great verses on darkness:

Micah 7:8–“When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”

John 12:46–“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness.

John 12:35-36 (Amplified Bible)–
35)So Jesus said to them, You will have the Light only a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light [keep on living by it], so that darkness may not overtake and overcome you. He who walks about in the dark does not know where he goes [he is drifting.]
36) While you have the Light, believe in the Light [have faith in it, hold to it, rely on it], that you may become sons of the Light and be filled with Light. Jesus said these things, and then He went away and hid Himself from them [was lost to their view].

Psalm 112:4 (Amplified Bible)–Light arises in the darkness for the upright, gracious, compassionate, and just [who are in right standing with God].

2 Corinthians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)–For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

You Never Left Me

A Poem

I walked away from You
to live my own life.
You waited for me
to come back to You.

You never left me.

I thought I was having fun,
but I realized I was foolish.
It was just rebellion and sin.
I was afraid You wouldn’t
take me back, but you did.

You never left me.

You softly said, “Ye of little faith,”
and I walked back
into Your loving arms.
I was sorry I walked away
after all You had done for me.
You forgave me and blotted
out my sins so that you would
not remember those sins again.

You never left me.

God, You loved me so much that
You sent your only begotten Son, Jesus,
whom I truly believe in, who saved me
from my sins. I will not perish,
but have everlasting life with You.

Thank You and I love You.

You Never Left Me

Joshua 1:5–I will never leave nor forsake you.

Acts 3:19–Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,…

Do You Hear His Knock?

Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart.

He wants to come into your life (home).

Jesus is waiting for you to answer your door.

He is waiting for you to ask Him into your heart and life.

When you hear His voice,

Answer him with a sincere prayer of acceptance.

Jesus will enter your home (heart)

And He will never leave you nor forsake you.

When you ask Him into your heart

The Holy Spirit will reside in you.

And He will dine with you and pray with you.

He will teach you the mysteries of God

And help you to love others.

The Holy Spirit will teach, guide, help, comfort, and empower you,

So why don’t you answer Jesus’ knock?!

He is a gentleman; Jesus will not enter your home without your invitation.

After awhile Jesus will stop knocking.

It will be too late for you

Because your life has ended.

(So answer while you still have the chance!)

Revelation 3:20–“Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice, I will come into him and dine with him and he with Me.”

John 10:9–I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.

(Read John 10:1-16–about the Good Shepherd)

John 14:16-17–16) And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever 17) the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

(Read John 14:16-26)

John 16:13–However, when He, the Holy Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you of things to come.

Romans 8:11–…He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

You are Not Alone in Your Struggles

1 Corinthians 10:13(NLT)—But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what other experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can’t stand up against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it.

Romans 3:10-12(NLT)—10) as the Scriptures say, “No one is good—not even one. 11) No one has real understanding; no one is seeking God. 12) All have turned away from God; all have gone wrong. No one does good, not even one.”

Romans 3:23(NLT)—for all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Romans 6:23(NLT)—For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:8(NLT)—But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Sin separated us from God since the beginning of time. God knew how weak we were with the selfish desires of our flesh and how we could not change ourselves. We needed a Savior to save us from an eternal death. God sent us His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die in our place for all our sins—past and present—so that we could be reconciled to Him.

God is holy and God is love; He detests sin and cannot even look at us when we sin. He did not want anyone to perish. When we choose to accept Jesus into our heart and believe by faith that He is our Personal Savior, we will be forgiven and become an adopted child of God. We will receive the Holy Spirit and we will become a temple for the Spirit of God to live in us.

If you are already born again, praise God! If you haven’t made that step yet then this is a lesson for your sake. Whether we are a believer in Christ or not, we still will have sin in our life. God gave us “free will.” We have a choice in everything we do. We are responsible for our own destiny—whether we go to heaven for eternity or not. The choices we make today will determine that.

Sin is prevalent in everyone’s life. We all have a spiritual war going on that we cannot see, but it does affect us. The temptations we feel everyday are not from God. Whatever habitual sin we struggle with daily, whether it be constant foul talk or habitual lying; pornography or habitually watching immoral television or movies (like shows with the Lord’s name being continually taken in vain, or sexual immorality, or extreme violence, cult or witchcraft being addressed, etc.); drugs; alcohol; cigarette smoking; sexual immorality; gambling—anything addictive, any habitual thing that takes you away from God is our choice and our responsibility to stop. Yes, it is hard to break a habit that we have always allowed in our life; and temptations will be there daily. But we do not have to face them alone. God will be there to help us. All we have to do is ask for Him to deliver us from our sin of choice. Trust God and believe that He will help you. God is bigger than any addiction and more powerful than anything He ever created.

Ephesians 3:20 (NLT)–Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, He is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would dare to ask or hope.

Matthew 19:26 (NLT)—Jesus said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

Romans 8:6 (NLT)—If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind there is life and peace.

There is our choice again. Either we choose our selfish, fleshly desires or we choose God’s help and decide to live a life based on His Word (The Holy Bible–In John 1:1 it tells us that Jesus is His Word). There are so many wonderful treasures to learn about God’s gift to us. It is a privilege to read God’s Word. I pray that you choose God and His Word today and that you delve into the Bible and seek His face. He will reveal Himself to you in so many wonderful ways. (The Gospel of John is a great place to start reading). God bless you and your journey with Jesus.

An Invitation to Accept Jesus as your Personal Savior

The Most Extraordinary Man

Do you want to meet the most extraordinary, awesome man who ever walked this earth?  I was enthralled when I met Him. I learn something new everyday about this man. Are you ready to be introduced?

Friend, this is my adopted brother and the friend who saved my life. Jesus. He never sinned which made Him the only perfect man who ever lived.  God is His Father.

God sent Jesus to save us from eternal death.  Jesus died, in our place, for our sins. By His sacrifice, He reconciled us to God because before He washed our sins away we were separated from God. After He died on the cross (crucified), He was buried. He rose again on the third day after His death—which was His miraculous Resurrection. Jesus knew this was the only way we could get to the Father.

When you believe in God’s only begotten Son and His sacrifice, you will not perish but live for eternity with Him in heaven. I believe in Him and love Him with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I know when I die I will be with Him in heaven. Would you like to be sure, too?

When you invite Jesus to come into your heart, He will come into your life and become your personal Savior. If you were the only person on earth he would have died on the cross just for you. That is how much he loves you.

God will become your adopted Father and you will be the child of the King of Kings. God was not our Father before Jesus died and restored our relationship to Him. We were sinners and Jesus made it possible for us to become God’s child by washing all of our sins away, so all God sees is our purity.

Here are some Scriptures that help back up what I said. The whole Holy Bible is true because it is the inspired Word of God. When you read the Bible, you will meet Him, too. God is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. He is Sovereign, which means He is the Supreme, the ultimate one and only God. Jesus and God are one. You receive the Holy Spirit when you accept Him into your heart

John 3:16 (New King James Version)—For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 John 4:10 (New King James Version)—In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (New Living Translation)—I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me—that Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and was raised from the dead on the third day, as the Scriptures said.

John 14:6(New Living Translation)—Jesus told him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Ephesians 1:5(New Living Translation)—His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave Him great pleasure.

By believing this you are accepting Him. All you need to do is humble yourself and pray a sincere Salvation prayer.  If you cannot think of one, may I suggest one? Say after me:

Dear God in heaven, Thank you for giving your Son, Jesus, to save me from dying in my sins. I know I am a sinner and am sincerely asking for your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus was crucified, was buried, and rose again on the third day, as the Scriptures said. I am asking Jesus to come into my heart and be my personal Savior. I’d like you to become my Father, God. I believe Jesus is my only way to You, Father. I am secure in knowing that I will be with you in heaven when I die. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Do You Want to Take a Spiritual Journey?

(A Poem)

Proverbs 3:5,6(NKJV)—Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

Look deep within yourself.

Do you see who you are?

Is it a pleasant surprise?

Or is it someone you don’t know?

Do you hear a soft, gentle voice?

This is your place of your conscience,

God’s Holy Spirit’s dwelling place.

This deep intensity

Is the region you must search

To start your Spiritual Journey with God.

If this area is hard for you to locate,

Maybe it is because you haven’t

Asked Jesus to come with you

On your life’s Journey.

First you need to have a close relationship

With Jesus as your personal savior

So that you may ask for directions

To stay on the straight road.

Your Journey is Spiritual with Him.

Without Him, it is just

A selfish and lonely trip.

He will show you a safe,

Loving path to follow

So that you may enjoy

Your life’s Journey of Sunrises.

Enjoy your trip that so few want to travel.

The other route has too many curves.

He will make sure you reach your destination.

There will be a lot of

Learning stepping stones

Along the way.

You will have free will

To choose between good and evil.

It wouldn’t be a Spiritual Journey

Without listening to His wisdom.

His destination is like an awesome

Rainbow for those who follow his directions.

Reading His map is

The guardrail of guidance.

This is so important to follow

So that your life’s Journey

Doesn’t have any major accidents.

Jesus is a wonderful companion.

He promises to always be there

Throughout this Spiritual Journey,

In case of any detours that seemed

Easier and faster at the time,

But then we figured out

His road was always the best route.

As the Spiritual Journey comes to an end;

The few who chose to follow

And stayed loyal to God,

Will see the Most Brilliant and

Magnificent Sunset at

The end of the Rainbow

Where our Heavenly Father’s Son, Jesus,

Will greet us with open, loving arms

And take us home with Him.

Proverb 16:9(NKJV)—A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.

Hebrews 3:7(NKJV)—Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you will hear His voice.…”

Hebrews 13:5(NKJV)–….For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

God’s Creation

When I started reading the Bible, I was in awe of our Lord.  There is so much to learn about our God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  He reveals new treasures about Himself in every chapter of the Bible.  It is a pleasure and honor to learn about such a wonderful God.  The book of Genesis teaches us that He is our Creator.

If it wasn’t for God’s awesome love and grace, we wouldn’t be able to live with Him in eternity.  It is so awesome to know He loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son into this world to save us from eternal death. (Read John 3:16).

1John 4:9-10(NKJV)–9) In this the love of God manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into this world, that we might live through Him.  10)  In this is love, not that we loved God but that He loved us and still sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

God,  our Creator, is an incredible, interesting and pleasurable companion to be with on our earthly journey.  Bring Him along wherever you go.  Without Him nothing will exist–not even the earth.  It is hard to imagine not being in existence.  We wouldn’t know though because we would have never existed.

John 1:3 (Amplified)–All things were made and came into in existence through Him, and without him was not even one thing made, that has come into being.

God’s intricate design of our unique bodies is so complicated and bewildering.  There is so much to learn about our complex inward parts that He formed in our mother’s womb because we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  (Please read Psalm 139).  Our bodies intrigue and perplex doctors and scientists.  God procreated doctors and researchers to find cures and medicines to help people.  These are some of the people who He works through to help others.  God gives them knowledge to be placed in such privileged positions.

Inventors are another group of people God uses.  God gave the inventors the wisdom to devise new items.  God should get all the glory because nothing would be possible without him.  It pleases him to give us all of these gifts.  I don’t understand why people used their free will to destroy so much of God’s creation.  This makes our generous and awesome God sad and angry.

I am in awe of God’s whole creation.  His beautiful rainbows remind us of His promise of never flooding the whole earth again; waterfalls show His powerful might, magnificent sunrises and sunsets that He gives us for our pleasure; and the weather and change of seasons are to name only a few things that only our Creator, God, could have placed into existence.
