“DARKNESS”

(My testimony from 1988–in Poem form)

The day my husband decided to leave me
My world (as I knew it) ceased to be
I dreaded to wake up every day
Because there was nothing more to say.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

Cloudy skies, no sunlight was going to shine
My only incentive on life was to resign
Suicide was very tempting at the time
But that idea wasn’t totally mine.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

My flooding memories only made me cry
The grief and guilt only made me want to die
I didn’t give him a reason to end our love affair
The horrendous pain and loneliness was too much to bear.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

When our darling infant son accidentally died
You said I was unworthy of love and I am damaged goods
You said our marriage wasn’t worth fighting for
The only reason you married me had died.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

I woke up in a deep, unforgotten, dilapidated,
seeping-wet black-holed well.
I had to be rehabilitated
because I let your rejection put me in my own prison cell.

All I saw was DARKNESS.

Then one miraculous day the sunlight appeared.
I saw Christ Jesus’ light everywhere.
His majesty became all aglow
as I felt His unconditional love flow.

No More DARKNESS!

Back in that deep, dark well
Where I was about to drown
Jesus dropped His strong saving, steadfast rope down.
He became my personal savior and saved me from hell.

No More DARKNESS!

Lord, thank you for loving me.
Being born-again helped me see
That my life was worth living now
Thank you, Jesus, for showing me how.

NO MORE DARKNESS!

Yesterday is gone
(with all its sorrows and heartaches)
Tomorrow is not here yet
So I won’t think about it
But Today there is
NO MORE DARKNESS!

PRAISE GOD!

Here are some great verses on darkness:

Micah 7:8–“When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”

John 12:46–“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness.

John 12:35-36 (Amplified Bible)–
35)So Jesus said to them, You will have the Light only a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light [keep on living by it], so that darkness may not overtake and overcome you. He who walks about in the dark does not know where he goes [he is drifting.]
36) While you have the Light, believe in the Light [have faith in it, hold to it, rely on it], that you may become sons of the Light and be filled with Light. Jesus said these things, and then He went away and hid Himself from them [was lost to their view].

Psalm 112:4 (Amplified Bible)–Light arises in the darkness for the upright, gracious, compassionate, and just [who are in right standing with God].

2 Corinthians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)–For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

Does Anyone Have a Praise Report They’d Like to Share With Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Image    I DO! I got my first follower on my Blog Site! (Thank you “P”)!  This makes me feel like I can continue blogging.  As long as I know there are people who would like to hear about our Father in Heaven, I’ll be here.

I would like to have other people talk to me about their relationship or non-relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  If there is a need to ask a question, or give a praise report, or discuss a problem–this is what I would like this blog site to end up to be.  One big praise report!  That would be exciting.

My other praise report is about my new writing position.  I will be writing devotionals on Saturdays and Wednesdays on a newly launched Christian site named:  http://www.TheBottomLine.co —  My page section is called: “Our Hope” because that is what my devotionals are–The hope I have is from what I’ve read in the Holy Bible about our loving Lord.  That is why I opened this Blog, so others would join me in sharing their thoughts of God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  You are welcome any time to share your latest revelations that God has shown you in His Word.  I’d love to hear.

Have a great evening!  Hope to hear from you soon.
